Extruded Polystyrene Skirting Boards | CEZAR
Polystyrene Skirtings are manufactured using raw materials derived from the recycling of packaging. The product consists of 75% recycled and 25% virgin raw material. This specific mixture is meticulously formulated to create a unique recipe, which is then mixed and heat-treated. During this process, the raw material is plasticized to form the skirting board. Each step of production is carefully controlled to minimize waste and ensure efficiency. The company strictly adheres to the ISO 14001 environmental management standards.
The Characteristics
Our boiler plants are powered by gas, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We actively minimize the fumes produced during the manufacture of polystyrene skirting boards using advanced filtration techniques, including cyclones and fabric filters across various installations. For example, our Toolroom employs a dedusting plant with a cyclone, while our Joinery Shop uses two fabric filters in its station extractor. Additionally, our silos are equipped with nine fabric filters.
We adhere strictly to environmental regulations, avoiding substances banned under REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), ensuring a safer production process. Our commitment to environmental stewardship extends to regularly verifying and testing the amounts of substances emitted into the air, which we do biennially.
In our packaging process, we use 100% recycled materials, underlining our dedication to reducing waste. Moreover, 75% of the raw material for our polystyrene skirting boards is sourced from recycled polystyrene packaging, specifically from household appliances and audio devices. This approach not only recycles waste but also contributes to the circular economy, reinforcing our commitment to eco-friendly production practices.
Our polystyrene skirting boards are designed with health and safety as a priority, being free of substances banned in the EU and compliant with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations.
We do not use CFCs, HCFCs, or HFC gases in our production process. These gases are known for their detrimental environmental impacts, including ozone depletion. Additionally, our fire retardants are free from harmful bromine compounds, which can be toxic and pose health risks.
Our material is also designed to be non-emissive, meaning it does not release harmful gases, particles, or fibers into the environment. This aspect is particularly important for maintaining indoor air quality and ensuring the health and safety of residents.
Furthermore, no harmful additives are used in our production process. This careful selection of materials makes our polystyrene skirting boards suitable not only for residential areas but also for use in demanding environments such as hospitals, nurseries, and schools.
Our polystyrene skirting boards are designed with sustainable production in mind, starting with their end-of-life recyclability. Once used, these skirting boards can be fully recycled, contributing to a circular economy.
In our production process, we ensure zero waste of the main raw material. Any defective elements produced are initially milled and then subjected to a pulverization process, allowing them to be reused as full-value material. This closed-circuit approach reflects our commitment to minimizing waste.
We power our production with energy from renewable sources, aligning with our goal of reducing our carbon footprint. Furthermore, water used in the production process is part of a closed circuit. It is cooled and then recycled back into production, ensuring that we do not produce any industrial wastewater.
Additionally, our facilities are designed to minimize water consumption. We achieve this by installing aerators on taps in bathrooms, which significantly reduce water use without compromising functionality.
By adopting these practices, we not only ensure the sustainable production of our polystyrene skirting boards but also contribute to the broader goal of environmental conservation.
Our commitment to social responsibility is reflected in our collaboration with large companies that conduct internal audits in our company based on the ICS (International Code of Conduct) code. These audits ensure that we meet stringent criteria in various aspects crucial for social responsibility.
These criteria include strict requirements for health and safety, which ensure the well-being and protection of our employees. We also adhere to fair working hours and payment standards, upholding our commitment to ethical employment practices.
Furthermore, our quality control processes during the production of polystyrene skirting boards are meticulously managed. We adjust these processes to minimize waste and prevent the creation of non-conforming products.
