Mikolan - naturally comfortable The mineral-based floor covering with an extra layer of natural cork offers everything that we understand today by the term “natural flooring”, taking into consideration environmental and climate protection concepts. It combines healthy living with maximum durability and an expressive appearance.
The Characteristics
Using an environmentally friendly manufacturing process, biologically sound natural materials are employed for the dimensionally stable and waterproof base plate. After thorough examinations by an independent institute, it has been confirmed that Mikolan floors are very low in emissions, free of harmful substances, and safe for the health of both humans and animals. For this, Mikolan has been awarded the “Blue Angel” environmental label. The floor's positive ecological balance is noteworthy, ranging from its resource-conserving production and long lifespan to its well-conceived “Second Life” recycling process. Overall, it is an innovative, future-oriented natural flooring.
What is the "Second Life" recycling process? "Second Life" offers the possibility of reintegrating used flooring back into the production cycle. The surface of discarded floors is sanded down, re-printed, finished, and re-profiled. In this way, an old floor is given a new lease of life. Here's how it works: The trade partner receives the new goods in a special transport box. The customer fills the transport box with the removed old flooring and arranges for its collection with their specialist dealer. The transport box is then collected from the customer by ZIRO and forwarded to the Swiss manufacturer. The old flooring is then transformed into a new, fully functional floor with a new appearance and slightly smaller dimensions.
