Mojave collection is woven using durable recycled polyester yarn that adds great value to the product. This recycled polyester yarn provides an extremely safe & eco-friendly product for modern homes.
The successful mix between attractive colors, great designs and such exceptional yarn is crafting such an outstanding collection of rugs.
The Characteristics
ORIENTAL WEAVERS is GRS certified for 3 categories of recycling: synthetic fiber recycling, plastic packaging recycling and use of recycled materials. Scope Certificate Number: CU1174014GRS-2022-00139928
OW generates solid waste from different industrial process, approximately 30 % of this generated waste is recycled internally or sold to a sister company to be used as a raw material for production.
Oriental Weavers is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 30 % from 2020 to 2024 compared to the baseline of 2019 through the employment of an energy management system.
In line with this the company installed a 259 kWp solar power station and is about to install another station with a capacity of 1 MWp.
Oriental Weavers won best Energy performers corporate award under Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) initiative. Oriental Weavers manufactures its products incompliance with ISO 14001 and the relevant laws & regulations also is in the certification process of ISO 50001 of the energy management system.
The efficiency measures at OW factories have achieved reduction in CO2 emissions by 25,000 ton annually. The company is now using outdoor solar powered light in some of its factories.
Oriental Weavers’ HSE policy falls in line with both Egyptian Labor Law as well as the US’ Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the International Labor Organization (ILO).
The company adheres to industry best practices in terms of employment contracts, wages, benefits, policies, working hours and gender nondiscrimination exceeding domestic requirements and complying with international standards.
