In our production, textile wastes are brought into the economy without harming the environment. Colored yarns containing cotton are obtained without using soil, tractor, water, chemicals and dyes. With the use of recycled yarn, recycling of textile waste, which is considered to be economically zero value, is encouraged. In this way, agricultural lands are protected, energy consumption is reduced, chemical processes and their harmful effects are reduced.
Oekotex-100, which certifies that we produce products that do not harm the environment and human; GRS, which certifies that we produce with recycling; and we have ISO 9001 certificates documenting our quality policy.
The Characteristics
As Polat İplik, we produce cotton-polyester and cotton-acrylic regenerated yarn (recycled yarn). Textile wastes containing mostly cotton, viscose, polyester fibers in the form of fiber balls, yarn pieces and fabric scraps are collected. Afterwards, these wastes are recovered by using the mechanical recycling method in our facility. In this method, textile wastes classified according to their color and raw material content are cut into small pieces. Finally, it is turned into fibers in opening machines called ashanoz and covered with fiber opening wires.
Due to the fact that it does not have a homogeneous raw material type and has a high rate of short fibers, the fibers btained from textile wastes are converted into yarn form by using the open-end spinning system and mixed with carrier fibers such as cotton, viscose, polyester, acrylic, which add strength to the yarn and enable the fibers to be transported. The yarns obtained in this way are called “regenerated / regenerated yarn” or “recycled yarn” in the sector.
At this point, for the production of regenerated yarn, it is important to collect the textile wastes on site and to separate them carefully according to their colors and raw material contents. After it is turned into fibers, it is of great importance that it is mixed with the original carrier fibers in the appropriate ratio and properties according to its physical properties and that standard yarn production is ensured in appropriate machine settings. Thanks to the production standardization and quality control system we have established in our enterprise, regenerated yarns with environmentalist, recycling and ecology certificates are produced with quality characteristics that can compete with yarns produced from original fibers.
