GRAND SELECTION laminate floors are manufactured according to strict European standards, from 100% natural raw materials, mainly wood. The emissions are the same as you would expect from natural, untreated wood. This is a natural product that poses no health risks, according to a recent study by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute. Made from sustainably managed forests – whenever possible, with the FSC® label and from local sources.
Produced in the most modern, environmentally friendly production facility of its kind (in Menznau, Switzerland). Certifications: FloorScore, FSC, Greenguard Gold, PEFC, CO2&kWh reduced, EPLF, Swiss Wood, Swiss Made, TSCA Title VI Compliant
The Characteristics
All of the earth’s ecosystems are based on sensitive cycles. To preserve them, we rely on sustainable production based on the renewable raw material, wood.
During the manufacture of our products, the carbon naturally present in the wood is bonded. As a result, less CO2 is released into the environment. The reduction of CO2 pollution translates into greater climate protection and heathier living.
Our Grand Selection laminate floors are free of PVC and therefore harmless to health in the residential environment.

Climate protection
Throughout the value chain, SWISS KRONO Switzerland focuses on resource-conserving and energy-efficient manufacturing. Over 90 percent of the thermal energy used is produced from renewable sources in a climate-neutral manner.
SWISS KRONO Switzerland has been operating an energy management system designed to increase efficiency (saving energy, multiple use of energy) and reduce CO2 (substitution of fossil fuels) since 2010. The infrastructure has been gradually adapted and processes continuously optimized. In this way, we are making an important contribution to achieving the national target of greenhouse gas reduction for a healthy climate.
Thinking and acting in cycles
The sustainable handling of the raw material wood and the environment shapes all our decisions. With our certified environmental management system according to ISO 14001, we continuously optimize our consumption of resources. We plan and act in cycles – from prudent product planning and raw material procurement to efficient, environmentally compatible production processes and logistics solutions to the recycling of materials used. Our goal: to optimize our ecological footprint. We use the raw material wood several times in cascade utilization and thus actively contribute to CO2 reduction. Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies, all raw materials are recycled as completely as possible and optimally utilized. In the final step, the wood is used as a source of energy for further production. We use the energy flows several times over, thanks to recovery techniques.
SWISS KRONO Switzerland recycles everything that cannot be used directly in the product, thus optimizing the wood cycle.
Swiss made
"Swissness" is written large for us. With CH80 – a SWISS KRONO initiative – some 80 percent of the raw materials along the entire value chain come from Switzerland, and at least 80 percent of the added value remains in Switzerland. Our products from Menznau are therefore "Swiss made".
Not only do we produce in Switzerland, but we also promote the thinning and regeneration of Swiss forests, support local businesses and processing companies, and avoid unnecessarily long transport routes. That all adds up to sustainable production – a benefit for people and nature alike.
