Natural and recycled materials to achieve high end consumer rugs with an excellent look and feeling
Product 1 - Touch Royal
This product has been constructed as alternative for handloomed viscose and tencel rugs. The focus is on a natural feeling, easy cleaning, no pilling, long lasting, recycled yarns and environmental friendly production. After a lot of investigation in this product and market research we want to go for a worlwide release on Domotex. We will bring this collection in 12 colors. Pile yarn will be in recycled polyester, warps are made from recycled polyester and weft yarn is made from recycled cotton.
Product 2 - Outdoor rugs with recycled polyester on wool spin system
As demand for outdoor rugs increased tremendously after Covid, we received often the question if we could offer outdoor rugs with a same look as our woolen flat woven indoor rugs. since half a year we are experimenting with R PET wool spin yarns to achieve a natural looking outdoor collection. We are releasing this new collection in Domotex in 6 different colors. All pile yarns are made from 100% R PET in wool look.
Product 3 - Flat woven wool rugs
The concept is the use of natural undyed wool from colored sheep to achieve carpets with an artisanal and natural look with minimal impact on environment. For the backside we use recycled cotton.
25% of our energy is coming from solar pannels on our roof All our production and devellopment is in our factory in Belgium. All our waste from carpets (selvedges, restyarns, woven waste) is recycled. We have oekotex and GRS certification.
The Characteristics
Producing eco friendly products is extremely important for us. Therefore we devellopped three years ago our brand dECO Rugs where we combine decoration with ecology. Started as a 100 % manufacturer of viscose rugs (made from cellulose) we devellopped several combinations with viscose: natural undyed wool in the base in combination with viscose in pile Natural undyed wool for flat woven rugs bicolor chenille devellopped in Belgium with spunshades technology (good colorfastness and minimum water use for dying process) to make relief rugs.
Use of spun shades technology in our viscose yarns to bring water use to an absolute minimum By mid 2023 we want to use only recycled polyester for our warp yarns New devellopments in polyesteryarns are made from recycled polyester (royal touch; outdoor collection).
Devellopment of a range light viscose rugs in livaeco viscose yarn that reduces the waste in yarn production to an absolute minimum Use of recycled cotton in all backings of our rugs (except outdoor).
Production partly with solar energy recycling as much as possible rest yarns intern by using automatical rewinders balance of rest yarns and waste of our production is 100 % recycled all cartoncores in our packaging is from recycled cardboard.
Our packaging is made from 100% LDPE and is 100% recyclable.
All our products are made conform our oekotex 100 label which assure our customers they are buying a healthy product.
All raw materials are coming from oekotex certified suppliers and if we use a yarn from a non certified supplier (rare) we need to test it on our costs so it is falling under oekotex.
All our products are made in our factory in Belgium where we continuously are investing in automatisation and up to date machinery. We are offering our people a job under good conditions, well paid and on long term. As we are living in a nice country we want to do something back for the country to keep the production in Belgium, rather than produce in low wage countries under poor conditions and later bring back the products to Europe. This is not easy and therefore we are specialised in niche products that allows a sustainable production in Belgium.
We are using since many years recycled cotton for our backing. All waste products from packaging, confection and weaving are 100 % recycled by ourselves our by other companies in our neighbourhood.
We use as much as possible raw materials from natural sources. Where we use polyester raw materials, we are using more and more recycled polyester yarns and are changing conventional polyester where possible
We have a social responsability towards our people working for us to pay them a correct wage under good conditions so they can live well with their families.
Further we take care that we are working with suppliers who are respecting their workers and pay them correctly.
