The company was A. Kolckmann, also known as AKO, was initially founded in 1920 by brothers Johannes and Wilhelm Kolckmann as a coir weaving mill. For more than 60 years, AKO produces carpet and tablecloth underlays as well as non-slip mats for a wide variety of everyday applications - both indoors and outdoors. In the development of its products, which are manufactured exclusively in Germany, AKO relies not only on its long-standing expertise but also on creativity. Several patents for AKO® brand products prove that Kolckmann's development power can compete with other global players.
In January, the renowned company will be presenting its latest patented non-slip miracle at DOMOTEX: the AKO PRIMA carpet pad. AKO PRIMA impresses with its outstanding adhesive properties, especially on smooth floors such as wood, tiles, stone and vinyl. Even on shag pile carpets, the carpet pad is said to keep all carpets securely in place. All without rippling or slipping. Another unique feature of AKO PRIMA is the innovative base material made of glass yarn and polyester fabric, which is coated with a newly developed acrylate foam. With a thickness of just 1.0 mm, the fine grid structure is very thin and yet resistant to footfall. The carpet pad is made from non-toxic raw materials, is PVC-free and does not contain any plasticizers. In addition, AKO PRIMA is said to be odorless, abrasion-resistant and UV-resistant and is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class 1.
The use of carpet underlays can reduce the risk of accidents in private and public spaces, keeping carpets, rugs and mats reliably in place.
