State-of-the-art vinyl and designer floors offer a whole host of benefits - they're robust, easy to lay and bring a more varied look to any room. When combined with the right underlay, they also provide outstanding sound insulation. STEICO develops, manufactures and sells eco-friendly construction materials made of renewable raw materials and has carved out a niche as an innovative system supplier for ecological housebuilding. It is now offering a solution that provides first-class soundproofing for luxury vinyl tiles.
As the European market leader in wood-fiber insulation materials, STEICO has optimized its stable wood-fiber insulation boards specifically for floating vinyl flooring and designer floor coverings in the MMFA underlay group 2. The end result is reportedly a footfall sound insulation rating of up to 19 dB. Measuring just 2.3 mm in thickness, STEICOunderfloor LVT is ideal for new builds and for renovation projects when the height of the floor is restricted. The high compressive strength of the wood-fiber insulation boards is said to ensure optimum safety, while the board’s specially textured underside compensates for any unevenness in the subfloor. In most cases, the chosen board format of 790 × 590 mm can be processed in next to no time. In fact, all it takes is a simple cutter knife to make precise adjustments.
